Jessica Valentine
aka jess Cook
A systems level thinker and empathetic leader – I design services and experiences with a deep understanding of the user problem, driven by data and tracking impact. Managing processes and building spaces within a company where craft, collaboration, and innovation can thrive amongst colleagues. Upstate NY native, find me boating, working on house projects or walking my dog!
I’m currently a senior product designer at 1Password, working cross-functionally on the authentication experiences team, leading designs & UX strategy to help lay the ground work towards the company’s passwordless north star vision.
Before that I was at Mozilla, where I worked collaboratively researching, designing, and developing user experiences for their consumer privacy products. My last focus there was leading UX & strategy for our email masking product Relay and our global cross platform VPN client. I’d been working in the privacy and security space at Mozilla since 2020, starting off as a sole designer within that group to then leading design for those product teams and helping to shape and build our design practice within our org, establishing rituals and refining processes. I also worked in the weeds of our payment platform and accounts teams from a service design perspective, esp. in terms of understanding user journeys and the ever changing needs of subscription based products. I also led design for our customer support experiences, where we launched a complete redesign of our product’s support center back in 2019.
Previously I was a designer at frog where I worked on a diverse range of client projects, some of which you will still find highlighted here. My wheelhouse as a designer revolves around my passion for people and systems. I approach design challenges through the lens of the user and marry research and design to achieve our goals for the product.
